The pioneer of modern no-dig gardening, Charles Dowding, has become the affiliated partner of Urban Wyrm and appeared alongside us and Growmoor Better Growing at the Glee show in Birmingham.
Urban Wyrm, founded by Chris Holgreaves and Ashley Day in partnership with Growmoor Better Growing, is the only worm cast business of its kind. It produces a range of gardening products and composts from worm casts. Worms are mixed in with organic substrate, fed a nutrient-rich organic diet, then separated from the casts they produce to create a range of growing mediums and soil conditioners. The Urban Wyrm worm cast range is destined to become one of the most natural, versatile gardening ranges and due to the extensive trials and development done, there will be no surprise if the success of this brand is proven sooner than later.
During the Glee show, Urban Wyrm & Growmoor were awarded 'Sustainable Product of the Year 2024' for their incredible Worm Cast products. Since then, Urban Wyrm has won another award at the South West Growers show, again for 'Sustainable Product of the Year 2024'.
In a rare move, Charles Dowding has endorsed Urban Wyrm and has become its affiliate partner, appearing with them at Glee Birmingham as a special guest on 10th September.
"For the first time in my life, I’ve agreed to affiliate with a company making compost, mainly for propagation. Urban Wyrm compost is good for spreading on beds as well. It’s quality is the fine texture and a concentrated and steady nutrient flow." Charles Dowding.
“Chris and I are extremely proud to be working alongside such a well-respected figure in the gardening world,” said Ashley.
We’ve built our brand to support gardeners to be more sustainable, and get much better results than they would when using alternative composts in the market. Having an endorsement from Charles Dowding shows that what we produce is the real deal, a quality product. We’re excited for the year to come as we develop and release more of our unique product range.”
